Unexpected Encounter

I'm thankful for the university ministry as part of my time in Bangladesh. I'm not much of a writer but I really felt like I'm supposed to share the story of  one student in particular that I met. He comes from a very conservative Muslim background.  The next day after I met him I received an email about a dream he had.  In this dream he said I took him into a garden. In the garden a man appeared  in white whom he said was Jesus. He said I was in the dream and Jesus said that I had come to tell Him the truth. Jesus also told him  that he needed to trust me and all that I say because it is of Jesus. In the dream I told him to love Jesus and that he would make him happy and make everything beautiful. He said Jesus told him, "My son, study more about me . Everything is opened and seek the truth . Don't be fearful . You will get peace."

This man said that he didn't know why he should  trust me when we first met. He thought about why he should  trust a person he had just met. After this dream he was so eager to see what I had to say. I gave him a Bible and  he accepted Jesus into his life.    This man's story has really moved me. Already he is willing to do everything he can to follow Jesus. He understands that to be a Christian you should  tell others about Jesus.  There are so many out there that are persecuted for what they believe in. It took me so long to really grasp this in my life. I had been so complacent in my faith. The term evangelism seemed so scary to me. I didn't really understand that there are so many different ways to tell people about Jesus.

There was another man we met who said he had been waiting three years for someone to give him a Bible. Once one of the girls on my team gave him a Bible he accepted Jesus into his life. This is just a reminder to me of how powerful the Word of God is.

      Hi everyone!

How are you doing?  Your support has helped me these past five weeks to evangelize and build relationships with youth.  You guys also helped me to have these awesome intimate revelations every week with God through lectures.  I have been able to intercede over numerous countries and  really learn how to study my Bible well.  It has been an absolute blessing and privilege to be able to include you on these updates of what God is doing in my life!

The last five weeks particularly already have had such an impact on my life.  I am truly grateful to be a part of such an amazing organization such as Youth With a Mission(YWAM).  Each week we have had seasoned speakers from around the world, some of whom have written books, spoken at universities and global churches,  come and speak on different topics.  My favorite week so far has been on the topic of 'Fear of the Lord', in that I find security in God in knowing how powerful He is.  At YWAM Newcastle we have a Youth Street program where high-schoolers spend the whole day with us -- we provide activities, snacks, dinner, worship, and a message at the end.  We split into different teams(e.g. Surf team, Art team, Dance, etc etc) to reach out to the young people in the community.   I am on the Sports team and get to build relationships through outdoor activities and creative games.  I really enjoy how this youth group is an all day event instead of just an hour church service because it allows room for deeper friendships to develop with these crew.

One of the crew, (his name has been changed, so we'll call him Johnny) has just started coming a couple weeks ago, and he has really inspired me.  He is only in the sixth grade, and this past week was the first time he started asking me questions about the Bible, and about how Jesus could walk on water.  Johnny said that the reason he started reading his Bible was because of Youth Street.  This crew member (we call them 'crew', which is an inclusive term, instead of 'kids') asked me if homeless people had Bibles.  I told him that not every homeless person does.  He then told me that we need to give every homeless person a Bible because they need to hear about Jesus! It was so awesome to hear this.  He is like a little missionary already! Hearing where his heart is and what an influence that Youth Street has been is incredible.  Being intentional with these crew and building relationships with them has already been so rewarding.  I'm so thankful that God has trusted me with these relationships, and that He  is doing some amazing things in my life.

Outreach locations were announced!  I am going to India, Nepal and Bangladesh! I am on an all girls team of 10 powerful ladies who have a heart after God. Here  we will be doing evangelism, women's ministries and slum missions.  Also, we will be doing a lot of house visits and preaching. I will spend the last three months of my DTS visiting this countries and building relationships to evangelize overseas.   I am so excited that God has given me this amazing opportunity of full time missions to go and Serve Him!  I will spend the last three months of my DTS visiting this countries and building relationships to evangelize overseas.

I still have $820 left of lecture fees that I have to fund for before outreach begins in 7 weeks.  I will need $4000 for outreach fees.  I encourage you to prayerfully consider supporting me, whether that is only $10, $20, $200 -- it doesn't have to look like a certain way.  But most importantly, please support me in prayer, because that is still the most vital way you can help.  You can donate directly to the YWAM Newcastle base under my name.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and support!
